Do you spend precious time writing killer, quality content for your blog? If so, whether it is a business blog or a personal one, that’s just the ticket to benefit from content marketing, and you should be proud of your work. The real question though, is, are you actually marketing your content? You have to promote your blog to readers after you publish. If this work is not done your content will most probably go unnoticed no matter how good it is. This is because visitors will not just come to you automatically. You need to draw people’s attention to it. Here are some ways to promote your blog:
Send to your mailing list:
If you have a newsletter or a mailing list of loyal subscribers, it is worth sending some special (or even all) blog posts to them. These could be the first wave of visitors that help you share your new content to even more people.
Every time you publish a new blog post, share the link on your facebook profile and also on facebook groups.. You can also share it on your facebook page if you have any.
Sharing your post is pretty easy on Twitter. You can easily tweet it out your blog post on twitter. Don’t forget to include hashtags in your tweet to help that tweet get more eyes on it.
You should have at least one pin-able picture in every blog post and always pin it to Pinterest. It is becoming such a huge social media site that it can help your blog posts.
Submit every single one of your blog posts to StumbleUpon. It’s a quick and easy way to get a few more views!
It is also becoming huge, and you can easily share your post the same way you would tweet out your blog post. Just go to the bottom of your post and you can see the share option for Google +.
It is basically just another way to follow your favorite blogs, but if you add a “follow me” button on your sidebar, you will be one of those favorite blogs that someone else is following. It’s really easy to add a button, to Bloglovin. Once you connect your blog, it will automatically publish your blog post to the Bloglovin feed, so whoever is following you will see your new post without you having to share any links.
Post it on LinkedIn:
Publish the link to the blog post on your LinkedIn profile. You can even post it in different LinkedIn groups or use their publishing network to host your post on the platform. See more on my LinkedIn activities and advice.
Post it on Medium.com:
This is very similar to the LinkedIn process. Medium is a community (made by people behind Twitter and Blogger) where you can join and post your content.
Share the article on Tumblr:
Always keep an active Tumblr account with the main objective being for it to bring traffic to site. Post any new article on Tumblr adding the relevant tags.
Post it on Quora and other Q&A sites:
Quora, Yahoo Answers and other Q&A sites. You can go directly to different Q&A sites, look for people asking similar questions to your blog post and help them out while at the same time indirectly promoting your content.
Become a guest poster:
You can even write and submit guest posts to relevant and popular sites in which you would include the link our new post.
